I’m Emily Guilbert, founder of Integrative Counseling Services.
With over 15 years of experience in mental health and wellness, I am deeply committed to helping individuals heal, transform, and thrive. My approach blends psychotherapy, creative expression, somatic practices, and coaching to support holistic well-being and lasting personal growth.
A Holistic, Integrative Approach to Mental Health
As a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and Expressive Arts Psychotherapist, I incorporate creative modalities such as visual arts, movement, music, and storytelling into therapy. Expressive arts therapies provide powerful ways to process emotions, unlock deeper self-awareness, and foster healing—especially for those who struggle to articulate their experiences through words alone.
As a Certified Integrative Mental Health Provider (CIMHP), I go beyond traditional talk therapy to address mental health from a comprehensive, whole-person perspective. Integrative mental health blends conventional psychotherapy with nutrition, lifestyle interventions, mindfulness, and mind-body practices to support emotional regulation, reduce anxiety and depression, and promote overall well-being.
Somatic and Yoga-Based Therapies for Deep Healing
I have advanced training in somatic therapies, which emphasize the mind-body connection in healing trauma and emotional distress. Somatic therapy helps clients reconnect with their bodies, release stored tension, and regulate their nervous systems through techniques such as breathwork, movement, and body awareness practices.
With over 500 hours of advanced yoga teacher training, I hold the E-RYT 500 designation from Yoga Alliance and am a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP). I integrate yoga-based therapy into my practice, using movement, breath-work, and mindfulness to help clients develop resilience, emotional balance, and self-empowerment. Yoga therapy is particularly effective for managing stress, anxiety, trauma, and chronic pain.
Jungian Psychology and Depth-Oriented Approaches
My work is also informed by Jungian psychology and psychodynamic-oriented therapies, which explore the unconscious mind, dreams, archetypes, and deep-seated emotional patterns. These approaches help clients uncover and integrate hidden aspects of themselves, leading to profound self-discovery and transformation. By working with symbols, myths, and personal narratives, clients can gain insight into recurring life themes, break unhelpful patterns, and cultivate a deeper sense of meaning.
